Mesa Arizona Temple

Last week Kelly and I were privileged to serve in the Mesa Arizona Temple. This is the closest we have ever lived to a temple in service (the Rexburg temple wasn't finished, 1 mile away). It is a wonderful blessing to be so close because with very little travel time we can go when there is only a small window of opportunity. I have even ridden my bike and it only took about 15 minutes. We have made it a goal to serve in as many different temples as we can through out the world, it truly is wonderful to see the amazing edifices built for the Lord. together we have served in 7 temples in 5 states and 2 countries. We hope to serve as often as we can where ever we might be. I know there are rich blessings both temporal and spiritual that come from serving our deceased brothers and sisters and our father in heaven in his holy house. Just to mention one of the smallest and least of these blessings came to me the other day when I was reunited with my mission president whom I had not seen in about 3 years; it was wonderful to meet with him again and rejoice in the fact that we are still brothers in the Lord (Alma 17:2). I love to see the temple and I love to serve in them. Great peace and understanding are obtained within their walls. If you want to learn more about temples please visit the Purpose of Temples page at lds.org. (seen above is the Mesa Arizona temple which was crafted in the 1920's after pre-Columbus architecture and King Solomon's temple)

Ladybug Park

Kelly and I spent two days with Jill and her family. It is so fun to be with them. Since Kelly had Martin Luther King Day off we were able to spend all day doing fun things with Carter, Lily, Jill, and Aaron. Some of the funnest things were riding to the park, going to Aaron's work, and the evening barbecue.
Kelly and I brought our bikes and we went to the "ladybug park" where the ropes are red with black spots and ladybugs like to play in the grass. I think Lily named the park. I was privileged to tow Lily and Carter in their bike trailer... I wish we would have had pictures of that, it was fun. Well, we climbed on the rope tower and played duck, duck, goose. Later Aaron taught us about the machines and inventions he works with at Caps Plus. Then we finished the day off with hamburgers, hot dogs, and a fun family home evening about feelings. It is a huge blessing to be close to family. I wish we could all be closer to spend the average days together. We love you all and hope to hear from you.

The 2008 Adventures Begin

Well Kelly and I have been in sunny Arizona for about 2 weeks now. We have to admit its a bit different from the sub-zero weather in Rexburg, but we're not complaining.

We started the new year with a celebration at the Robison home stomping on bubble wrap to create our own fire cracker effect. We also played other fun games like the penny search and tell game and Lily's favorite, the squirt bottle game. We had to find hidden pennies around the room and put them in a jar and say a good thing about 2007 and good things that will happen in 2008. If you ever want to play the squirt bottle game, all you need is a squirt bottle, people, and ideas. Who ever has the bottle says a category and picks something from the category, a cat for example is from the animal category. Then they go around the circle and people guess different animals and who every guess what the bottle holder thought of gets a squirt in the face. It sure was a lot of fun and we wish you all could have been there.

Kelly is now teaching drama to seventh and eighth grade Sabercats at South Valley Jr High in Gilbert, Arizona. She is helping her coordinating teacher and eventually be teaching her own lessons without any other teacher present. Meanwhile I work part time at Javelina Cycles in Phoenix. I am learning so much about this great hobby of mine and I love it. As you could probably guess, the free time we get is spent with Jill, Aaron, Lily, and Carter. We love playing with them and living so close.

Keep visiting to see whats new and let us know what you're up to.
